Job summary

Scituate Public School District is seeking a Specialized Paraprofessional at Jenkins Elementary School in Scituate, MA. The role provides 1:1 and small-group support under the supervision of teachers for students on IEPs, including those in ECC, JEMS, and Learning Centers.

The paraprofessional helps with instruction, test proctoring (MCAS), data collection, and behavioral support while maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with school staff. This is a 10-month, full-time position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; prefer an Associate degree or higher in related field.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working with teachers, students, and families.
• Ability to follow directions from the principal and lead educator, work independently and maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom and specialized instruction by assisting students individually or in small groups.
• Proctor daily content tests and standardized assessments including MCAS.
• Provide supervision, academic and behavioral support to students; implement accommodations and behavioral plans as appropriate.
• Support classroom technology and use of assistive technology; reinforce instruction with guided practice.
• Document student progress and maintain confidentiality; communicate with educators regarding progress or concerns.
