Job summary

The Scituate Public School District seeks an instructional paraprofessional to work under the supervision of the lead educator and the principal. The role involves supporting students, proctoring tests (including MCAS), assisting with assistive technology, and implementing behavior plans as appropriate.

This is a 10-month position based on the school year. The paraprofessional will prepare materials, provide classroom coverage as needed, document student progress, and maintain confidentiality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work with students in a tutorial capacity.
• Ability to follow directions of lead educator and principal.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by start date.

Responsibilities

• Proctor daily tests including MCAS and standard assessments.
• Support students’ use of assistive technology.
• Implement behavior plans as appropriate.
• Provide coverage for teachers for meetings.
• Prepare materials for the special education department.
• Weekly training/consultation with the lead educator.
• Reinforce instruction in small groups under lead educator’s management.
• Document students’ progress academically and behaviorally.
• Maintain confidentiality protocols.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
