Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education for the 2026‑27 school year. This full‑time position covers 184 days at 6.5 hours per day, with four positions available, to support students with disabilities in various settings.

Duties include assisting instruction, managing behavior, tracking progress, and handling daily living tasks. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a PCA certification within 30 days, college credits or degree, and the ability to lift 40 pounds; start

Good communication, interpersonal, and record‑keeping skills.
Ability/desire to work with technology and computers.
Ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, supervise students, take direction, and maintain regular attendance, including completing assigned days.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center‑based settings.
Managing behavior (redirecting, calming or removing a disruptive student from the classroom).
Monitoring and recording student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.).
Managing physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.).
