Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education to support students with disabilities across mainstream, resource room, or center-based settings. You will assist instruction, manage behavior, and track progress to foster inclusive learning.

Requirements include a High School Diploma and PCA certification within 30 days; depending on credentials, pay ranges from $20.85 to $26.15 per hour with K-12 experience. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; PCA cert due within 30 days.
• 60 sem/90 qtr credits or an associate degree or successful ParaEducator/ParaPro exam.
• Good communication, interpersonal and recordkeeping skills.
• Ability to work with technology and computers.
• Ability to supervise students and take direction.
• Regular attendance required.
• Must lift a minimum of 40 pounds and handle tasks including toileting, feeding and self-care procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room or center-based settings.
• Manages behavior (redirecting, calming or removing a disruptive student from the classroom).
• Monitors and records student progress in instructional areas (academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, social skills, etc.).
• Manages physical needs (toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.).
