Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students ages 5–21 with autism and behavioral challenges. You’ll work with teachers to implement goals, assist with self-care, and help create a calm, structured classroom.

You will contribute to individualized learning plans and data collection, while nurturing a supportive environment and fostering student growth. This role offers opportunities for collaboration and professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
