Requires General Paraeducator Certificate and completion of district training; involves collaborating with teachers, supervising students, and participating in professional development, with a 183-day year and 10-month calendar.

Qualificações

• State General Paraeducator Certificate required; district program offers statewide standards-based training.
• Complete 28 hours of Fundamentals Course of Study (FCS) within four months of hire and the next two days within six months.
• Assist certificated teachers with instructional and personal care tasks for students with disabilities.

Responsabilidades

• Provide instruction to students individually or in small groups per teacher direction.
• Assist with self-care activities (feeding, dressing, toileting) and use of adaptive equipment.
• Supervise students during recess, meals, and transportation as needed.
• Record student progress and maintain communication with teachers and parents.
• Adjust positioning for students with physical disabilities and assist with occupational/physical therapy as instructed.
• Assist in preparing and serving meals; maintain clean eating areas.
• Model positive behavior and assist in classroom management and conflict resolution.
• Support teachers in adapting materials and administering assessments.
• Coordinate classroom activities and supervise field trips or off-site activities.
• Participate in department meetings; share relevant student information.
• Assist with equipment setup, scheduling, and basic tech use for student activities.
• Maintain regular attendance and adhere to district policies.
