Tacoma Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support a Kindergarten student with a disability during the school day. This role requires assisting a certificated teacher with instructional and personal care needs across activities and learning centers.

Position includes 183 work days per year and completion of state mandated paraeducator/ESP training. Certifications in CPR/First Aid are required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.

Formación

• Associate degree or 72 credit hours of post-secondary education and ability to assist in instruction for students with disabilities.
• Experience working with students with disabilities is preferred and may be considered in place of higher education.

Responsabilidades

• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to students as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with activities of daily living and personal care needs.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and bus loading/unloading as assigned.
• Record student progress and communicate with teachers and families as appropriate.
• Assist in administering tests and implementing instructional adaptations under supervision.
