Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education Paraeducator to support students in various learning environments. The role follows a 6.5-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid break, starting November 16, 2026.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma or GED with one of the listed education options or ParaPro qualifications, and demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus one of the listed education options.
• Two years of post-secondary coursework from an accredited institution.
• Passing ParaPro or Paraeducator Online assessments.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and support students in classrooms and community settings.
• Monitor and evaluate classroom behavior; apply appropriate consequences.
• Collaborate with teachers to modify objectives and instruction.
• Assist with daily activities, including personal care as needed.
• Supervise during lunch and field trips; ensure orderly conduct.
• Attend staff meetings to discuss student progress with staff and parents.
