Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking an Instructional, Clerical and Supervisory Paraeducator to support teachers and students throughout the school day. The role combines instructional assistance with clerical tasks and on-site supervision to help maintain a productive learning environment.

The position offers a stable schedule Mon-Fri with a paid break, and benefits including medical, dental, life and PTO in line with the paraeducator agreement.

Qualifications

• Must possess and display excellent human relations skills when dealing with staff, students, and community.
• Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service to students staff and parents.
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely both orally and in writing.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos; write correspondence.
• Able to operate a computer and knowledge of multiple software packages.
• Understand district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Responsibilities

• Under direction of certified teacher, assist with lesson plans and supervise students.
• Guide and work through lesson plans with individuals or small groups.
• Explain and interpret class assignments; instruct on materials, equipment and texts.
• Supervise vocational education students in office, classroom and other sites.
• Monitor and evaluate student behavior and enforce appropriate consequences.
• Assist students with reading, record results and administer rewards.
• Chaperone students during off-site activities and field trips.
• Assist with locating materials and information for class assignments.
• Perform clerical tasks: maintain records, update cum folders and prepare instructional sheets.
• Maintain clean, orderly classroom and facilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
