Job summary

The Washoe County School District seeks a Special Education Paraeducator Aide II at Bohach Elementary to support instructional staff in a SPED classroom. The 30 hours per week, 180 days position involves one-on-one and small-group assistance, adapting activities to students’ needs.

Responsibilities include following IEP plans, providing behavioral support, transporting and supervising students as needed, and coordinating with teachers to monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with disabilities in a classroom setting.
• Ability to implement IEP-related activities and adapt tasks to student needs.
• Capacity to assist with health, hygiene, and safety tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in classroom activities.
• Follow IEP plans and safety procedures; support health and hygiene habits.
• Move students and assist with transportation and field trips as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and assist in preparing instructional materials and progress notes.
