Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide II to support teachers in special education classrooms across multiple programs and settings. The role involves assisting with instructional activities, individual and group support, and providing attendant services to students with various disabilities.

The incumbent may work at Title I sites and in specialized programs such as CLS, EC, SIP, and STRATEGIES.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Any education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying.
• Knowledge of educational principles, student behavior, positive behavior modification techniques, and basic office procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral disabilities in various settings.
• Provide attendant services (diapering, toileting, washing faces) and help in health and hygiene habits.
• Assist with recording student progress and developing instructional materials.
• Move students weighing 50-80 pounds daily and support instruction with life skills.
