Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a Paraeducator Aide II to assist teachers in special education classrooms. The role includes supporting students with diverse needs, providing one-on-one and small-group assistance, and helping implement IEP goals and behavioral plans.

Incumbents may assist with health-related tasks, mobility, and adapted instruction, while maintaining confidentiality and safety across routines, classrooms, and activities in a Title I or other special education setting.

Qualifications

• Supports a special education classroom under supervision.
• Assists teachers with instructional activities and student routines.
• Provides attendance services and health/hygiene support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with intellectual, physical, or behavioral needs in various programs.
• Support students in reaching locations in school and during field trips.
• Operate and adjust classroom equipment and assistive devices.
• Record progress toward goals and help prepare instructional materials.
