Job summary

Mountain View High School in Vancouver, WA seeks a Special Education paraeducator to support students with IEPs. The role reports to the Special Education Instructor and building principal, and operates during school hours in a 6-hour day schedule.

Position is 190 days per year with potential for additional duties. Requires meeting Washington Paraeducator qualifications and successful background checks. Evergreen Public Schools offers benefits and training upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of: 455+ on ParaPro or an associate degree or higher, or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher, or completion of a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.
• If qualifications are not met, candidate name may be screened out from qualified list.
• Upon hire, state-required training offered through Evergreen School District.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervision of instructional activities for students individually or in small groups.
• Provide special education services and supports as directed by the teacher/IEP manager.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
• Maintain data on student progress and assist in assessment and data collection.
