Evergreen Public Schools’ Cascade Middle School in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Special Education Paraeducator to support elementary and secondary students under the supervision of the Special Education teacher and Building Principal. The role involves one-to-one and small group instruction, behavior management, and data collection to monitor progress towards IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must meet one of: ETS ParaPro 455+; Associate degree or higher; 72 quarter credits / 48 semester credits; Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents and to supervise students.
• Ability to lift and assist with students; physical endurance for classroom support.

Responsibilities

• Provide special education services and supports to students eligible for special education.
• Assist in one-to-one and small group instruction as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain a learning environment aligned with course goals and curriculum outcomes.
• Assess student progress and collect performance data toward IEP goals.
• Assist in administering and scoring tests and implementing behavioral strategies.
• Attend trainings and support instructional materials preparation.
