Job summary

EastSide Charter School in Wilmington, DE is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to join our student-support team. The role collaborates with special and general education teachers to remove barriers and support academic, social, and emotional growth for students on the caseload.

The ideal candidate will assist in implementing IEP goals, monitor behavior per plans, prepare materials, and adapt activities. A Bachelor's degree and eligibility for Delaware teacher certification preferred; salary

Qualifications

• Minimum: Instructional para-educator in Regular or Special Education.
• AND/OR: Title I Instructional Para-educator in Library/Media, Regular Education, or Special Education.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree and Delaware teacher certification eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate to monitor student progress and implement IEP benchmarks.
• Lead small and whole-group activities for students.
• Observe, record, and chart behavior per Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Prepare classroom materials tied to student IEP goals.
• Adapt activities to support classroom objectives.
• Administer tests and assignments for students on caseload.
• Attend meetings and in-service trainings to update job knowledge.
• Monitor students to provide a safe learning environment.
