The ideal candidate demonstrates interest in youth, has a high school diploma or GED (ParaPro or college credits preferred), and can complete onboarding while adhering to district policies and state laws.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates interest and aptitude for working with youth.
• Evidence of good moral character.
• Minimum of High School Diploma/GED with ParaPro or equivalent.
• Experience with students with disabilities or autism preferred; substitute certificate helpful.
• Must complete onboarding and comply with district policies and laws.

Responsibilities

• Alerts teachers to students' special needs and assists with IEPs.
• Grading and returning student work under teacher supervision.
• Prepare instructional materials and gather student work.
• Assist in administering tests.
• Implement ABA-based strategies under guidance of teacher/CST/Behaviorist.
• Support students with special needs in small groups and during activities.
• Communicate with teachers about student progress and behavior.
• Follow district safety plans and procedures.
