Job summary

Charter School of New Castle is seeking a Paraprofessional for the middle school to support students and collaborate with teachers. The role focuses on instructional assistance, behavior support, and effective communication with families.

The ideal candidate will hold one of the Delaware paraprofessional certification options and have experience assisting students with special education services. The position runs for 10 months with occasional evenings and Saturdays as needed.

Qualifications

• Eligible for Delaware Paraprofessional Certification via one of three options.
• Experience working with students who receive special education services preferred.
• Ability to plan, instruct, assess, lead, mentor, and guide students to academic success.

Responsibilities

• Hold high expectations for each student.
• Possess strong knowledge of content area.
• Exhibit positive rapport with students.
• Create and foster a positive learning environment.
• Establish and maintain strong communication with parents.
• Attend weekly department meetings.
• Perform clerical duties related to textbooks, reports, attendance, etc.
