Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional/Special Education Para at Deephaven Elementary. The role supports individualized instruction, assists with self-care tasks, operates assistive devices, and participates in IEP meetings as needed. Training in Personal Care Assistant certification is preferred, with a emphasis on data recording and behavior support.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status per MDE starting day 1.
• Complete Personal Care Assistant Training certification.
• Experience supporting instruction in the classroom preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies including restitution and resiliency.
• Ability to write concise observational data and maintain records.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor individualized instruction for SPED students.
• Assist with self-care tasks; lifting may be necessary; basic medical procedures under supervision.
• Operate assistive devices and supervise their use.
• Apply behavior management and prevent self-harm.
• Participate in IEP and school meetings as requested.
• Record observational data and maintain logs and charts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Participate in training on third-party reimbursement.
