Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional/Special Education Para to support individualized instruction for students with special needs. The role includes 5 hours 25 minutes per day across 184 days per year, with a minimum hourly rate of $24.31.

Duties cover 1:1 and small group support, self-care tasks, and use of assistive technology in both regular and special education settings. Responsibilities include documenting data, attending IEP meetings, and assisting with behavior supports.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status per MDE on day 1 of employment.
• Completion of Personal Care Assistant Training certification (online).
• Experience supporting student instruction in classrooms preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies and CPI desired.
• Ability to follow district confidentiality and data privacy rules.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor individualized instruction for special education students in 1:1 or small groups.
• Assist with self-care tasks; assist with feeding, dressing, toileting, and repositioning as needed.
• Operate and supervise specialized equipment (wheelchairs, augmentative devices).
• Apply student management techniques to prevent or stop challenging behaviors.
• Participate in IEP conferences and school meetings as requested.
• Record observational data, maintain logs, and monitor daily attendance.
• Participate in third party reimbursement training and tasks as required.
