Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education [Math] Inclusion teacher to join our community of learners and leaders in a long-term substitute capacity. This position starts as a per diem sub, with duties aligned to district goals and student needs.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree, a Massachusetts Teaching License with Moderate Disabilities, and experience supporting students with cognitive delays in urban settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Massachusetts license with Moderate Disabilities.
• Meet state/federal guidelines to be Highly Qualified.
• Authorization to work in the United States by first day of employment.
• Experience in urban schools preferred.
• Degree in Special Education preferred.
• ESL license or SEI endorsement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement district learning goals aligned with state frameworks.
• Provide small-group instruction for students with cognitive delays to progress in the general curriculum.
• Write and implement IEP goals with regular progress reports.
• Provide accommodations and, if needed, develop curriculum and analyze student work for assessments.
• Collaborate with school staff to respond to student needs and modifications.
• Assist transition to adult living services as appropriate.
