Job summary

Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional Special Education Social Studies Inclusion teacher with an SEI endorsement to join our community of teachers, learners, and leaders. This is a long-term substitute position beginning 09/22/2026 and ending 10/30/2026, with per diem pay per district policy.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and a Massachusetts Teaching License with Moderate Disabilities, plus strong collaboration and commitment to equity in instruction.

Qualifications

• Hold a Bachelor's degree.
• Massachusetts Teaching License in the appropriate content area and Moderate Disabilities for the appropriate grade level.
• Meet all state guidelines to be fully licensed and Highly Qualified.

Responsibilities

• Implement district goals aligned with state frameworks and support portfolio development.
• Provide small-group instruction to students with moderate to severe cognitive delays within the general curriculum.
• Develop and monitor IEP goals and report progress regularly.
• Provide accommodations for learning and testing; assist with curriculum and MCAS Alternative prep as needed.
• Collaborate with staff to modify instruction and support transitions.
