Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team, supporting students in Grades K-12 by assisting with IEPs and tailored instruction.

Starting rate is $22-$24 per hour based on experience. Requires high school diploma; associate degree preferred. CA driver’s license required and crisis management certification preferred. This position emphasizes growth, collaboration, and empowering students to reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test.
• Associate degree or higher preferred in education or related field.
• Valid CA driver’s license or ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification is preferred or required.
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience providing instruction or support to children, preferably in special education or behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to cultivate a supportive, welcoming learning environment.
• Implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Instruct and monitor students during lessons, ensuring fidelity and progress toward goals.
• Track progress and communicate with teachers regarding successes and areas needing intervention.
• Manage student behavior with consistency in collaboration with teachers.
• Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
• Complete documentation of behaviors and performance; provide actionable observations.
• Communicate with students, families, and staff about needs and achievements.
