Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education's Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Instructional Aide II to support K-12 students in a Special Education setting. This role collaborates with teachers to implement IEP/ITP and PBIP-based instruction and provides hands-on job coaching on campus and in the community.

Starting rate $23.10-$28 per hour based on experience. The position requires a CA emergency permit within 90 days, a CA driver's license, and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• CA Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit within 90 days of start.
• CA state driver's license or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to obtain crisis management certification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience supporting children, preferably in special education.
• Experience with IEP/ITP/PBIP planning preferred.
• Ability to drive a company van for student transport.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized curriculum and behavioral strategies per IEP/ITP/PBIP.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student progress.
• Align activities with academic, community, and vocational goals.
• Document student behaviors and provide insights to staff.
• Assist with data collection and functional assessments.
• Provide job coaching on campus and community sites.
• Support students' physical care needs with dignity and safety.
• Maintain classroom safety and compliant documentation.
• Engage in crisis intervention when needed and de‑escalation.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and professional development.
• Assist with classroom operations and substitute teaching if required.
• Support families with communications and orientation for new staff.
