Job summary

Wake County Public School System seeks an Instructional Assistant-Special Education to support teachers and students across elementary, middle, or high school settings. The role involves coordinating instructional activities aligned with IEPs, maintaining confidentiality, and promoting a safe learning environment.

Required are a high school diploma or GED and the ability to work Mon-Fri with flexibility for occasional evenings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• CPI certification training will be provided by WCPSS.
• Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with coordinating instructional programs for special education students and IEPs.
• Support classroom routines and maintain a safe, learning-oriented environment.
• Assist with implementation of behavioral intervention plans and data collection.
• Provide in-class support and help with materials and assistive technologies.
