Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Special Education to support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for students with disabilities across elementary to high school levels. A high school diploma or GED is required, with additional early childhood coursework or experience preferred and CPI certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six semester hours of coursework in early childhood education or two years of work experience in an early childhood setting.
• Maintain CPI certification.
• Experience with or assisting individuals with special needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assist with implementing students' behavioral intervention plans.
• Prepare materials and organize classroom procedures.
• Ensure confidentiality of student information.
• Assist with transitions between classes and health-related student needs.
