Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant-Special Education to support teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students, aligned with Individual Education Plans (IEPs).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ESSA Title I school eligibility requirements may apply.
• CPI certification preferred or required as part of certification program.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with coordinating instructional programs for special education students and IEPS.
• Support implementation of student behavioral intervention plans.
• Prepare materials, organize classroom routines, and ensure accessible resources for lessons.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and maintain FERPA compliance.
• Assist with transitions between classes and monitor student safety and well-being.
• Support low- and high-tech assistive technology and AAC devices in the classroom.
