Job summary

Talbot Community School is seeking a dedicated Educational Technician III to support Special Education students. You will implement instructional plans, track progress, and collaborate with teachers, families, and the school nurse to ensure individualized student success.

The position emphasizes culturally responsive practices, trauma-informed care, and data-driven decision making within a Portland Public Schools context. Strong teamwork and commitment to student well-being are essential.

Qualifications

• Preference for candidates with nine credit hours related to education (behavior management or classroom strategies).
• CPI training certification preferred and/or ability to certify.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to students individually and in small groups to meet academic goals.
• Follow lesson plans and schedules from the Special Education Coordinator or related service providers.
• Maintain data and communicate with families and staff regarding student progress.
• Support student engagement and manage classroom routines, including behavior support.
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, families, and school nurse per program needs.
• Assist with Mainecare billing documentation and non-instructional duties as needed.
