Job summary

Portland Public Schools' King Middle School seeks a Special Education Ed Tech III to implement academic and positive behavioral support plans, support students individually and in groups, and help maintain records under the direction of the Principal. You will collaborate with teachers, families, and related staff to adapt instruction for diverse learners and collect data to support student achievement.

Qualifications

• College degree with nine credit hours in education-related topics such as behavior management or classroom strategies.
• At least one year of experience working with students in structured situations.
• CPI training certification preferred or ability to be certified.

Responsibilities

• Support and provide direct instruction to students individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings to ensure achievement of academic goals.
• Implement lesson plans and follow schedules created by the Special Education Coordinator or related service provider.
• Continue planned instructional activities during teacher's absence.
• Foster relationships that respect students' diverse backgrounds and strengths.
• Collect, organize, and share data to support communication with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to provide academic and social-emotional support.
• Maintain FERPA confidentiality of student and staff information.
