Job summary

Weldre5j is seeking a Paraprofessional - Special Education to support certified staff in a classroom setting. This part-time position (174 days, 5.5 hours daily) focuses on assisting students with instruction and behavior management to help meet IEP goals.

Under supervision, you will reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer skills, assist with field trips, record-keeping, and daily care as needed. The role does not include medical benefits and follows district pay scale Category III.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
• Prior experience working with special needs children desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist professional staff in administration and correction of classroom exercises.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials and reinforcing skills per student needs.
• Help with record-keeping documenting student learning and performance.
• Support classroom behavior management to maintain safe, orderly environment.
