Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support teachers in elementary and high schools. You will reinforce lessons, help with daily living tasks, and assist students with various disabilities under supervision.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid TASN (NCLB) paraprofessional license from ISBE or equivalent.
• CPR training is highly desirable; if not already completed, training may be required later.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and complete basic written reports.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities under supervision.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and support for IEP goals.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks and daily living activities as needed.
• Support class activities, take notes, and maintain behavioral records.
• Assist in supervising students during field trips and activities.
