Job summary

Colchester Middle School, part of the Colchester School District, is seeking a Behavior Interventionist to lead highly detailed special education programs for students with intensive behavioral challenges. You will work with teachers, special educators and staff to implement unique programs and monitor progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in education and/or equivalent coursework in Emotional Disabilities/behavior management preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities or challenging behaviors.
• Knowledge of best practices in teaching and learning and ability to apply these practices.
• Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
• Commitment to the District’s Vision Plan.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to eligible students in a respectful and supportive manner.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, staff and supervisors.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information and records.
• Attends and participates in IEP/EST/EPT meetings.
• Collects and analyzes data to adapt student programming.
• Implements behavior programs as directed by the case manager.
• Performs duties as assigned by supervisor or principal.
