Job summary

Eugene School District 4J is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant to support a teacher and provide educational and behavioral services for students with developmental or learning disabilities. The schedule is 9:00am to 2:00pm, 5 hours daily, 0.625 FTE, on a 192-day school year calendar.

The role requires Highly Qualified status per Oregon statutes, and applicants must attach HQ documentation such as transcripts or degrees.

Qualifications

• HQ documentation must be provided with the application (transcripts or diploma).
• Post-secondary study of 72 credit hours or 48 semester credits required for HQ.
• HQ can be shown by degree or a formal assessment as specified by Oregon rules.

Responsibilities

• Assist in lesson preparation and direct instruction to students.
• Collect, sort and correct lessons and tests; record grades.
• Monitor student progress and behavior; tutor one-to-one or small groups.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain filing systems for curricula.
• Supervise in Resource Room; maintain an orderly, safe learning environment.
• Guide students in emotional control and appropriate health habits.
