Job summary

The Eugene School District 4J is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant to support teachers in planning and delivering lessons for students with developmental or learning disabilities on a 0.875 FTE schedule (7 hours/day, 8:00am–2:00pm, Monday–Friday). HQ documentation must be provided to verify qualifications.

Responsibilities include lesson prep, student progress monitoring, clerical tasks, and direct student assistance in various settings with emphasis on behavioral management and safety.

Qualifications

• HQ status requires documentation attached to your application.
• Two years of post-secondary study with 72 credits or 48 semester credits.
• Associate degree or higher required; or meeting a formal academic assessment standard.

Responsibilities

• Confer with teacher and assist in preparation of lessons appropriate to level of instruction; directly instruct students, review coverage and comprehension, and administer tests.
• Redistribute lessons and review with students; file as necessary.
• Monitor and supervise students; record progress and behavior on IEPs; tutor one-to-one or in small groups.
• Compose and format homework assignments, charts, posters, memos, newsletters; maintain filing system and bulletin boards.
• Prepare classroom materials using office tech and equipment; supervise students in the Resource Room or hallways as assigned.
