Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12 within a Special Education program. You will assist with IEP implementation, tailor instruction to individual goals, and collaborate with educators to foster a nurturing, achievement-oriented classroom.

You will help deliver on-site and community-based instruction, monitor progress, and support students in developing essential academic and life skills, while maintaining

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test.
  • Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study preferred.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, education assistant or similar credential preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
  • Prior experience providing instruction, guidance and/or support to children; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Implementing engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions.
  • Instructing and monitoring students during lessons with fidelity.
  • Tracking progress and communicating with teachers about student needs.
  • Managing student behavior and applying disciplinary measures with teachers.
  • Mentoring students to develop community, vocational, leisure, and academic skills.
  • Documenting student behaviors and performance; reporting observations and recommendations.
  • Preparing behavioral reports and activity logs.
