Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs in Palmdale, CA is seeking an Instructional Aide II to support K-12 students within a dynamic Special Education team. You will implement individualized strategies under IEP/ITP/PBIP, collaborate with teachers, and maintain detailed progress documentation while assisting with classroom operations and transportation as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field.
• CA Emergency 30 Day Sub Permit within 90 days of starting employment.
• CA state driver’s license.
• Certification in crisis management training.
• Minimum 3 years of experience providing instruction, guidance and/or support to children; preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program settings.
• Experience in special education services, lesson planning, classroom management and personalized instruction preferred.
• Experience working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders or related disabilities.
• Strong communication and decision-making abilities; ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized support and guidance to students in Grades K-12.
• Collaborate with teachers and professionals to implement individualized strategies.
• Implement curriculum and behavioral interventions aligned with IEP/ITP/PBIP.
• Document student behaviors and progress with confidentiality.
• Provide job coaching and vocational training on campus and in community sites.
• Assist with transportation and supervision as needed.
• Maintain classroom safety and comply with policies and regulations.
• Participate in mandatory trainings and professional development.
• Assist with classroom operations and substitute teaching when required.
