Job summary

New Story Schools in Pennsylvania is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and developmental challenges in a structured classroom. You will work closely with teachers to reinforce learning goals and daily living skills.

You’ll implement IEPs under guidance, assist with transitions, collect progress data, and help maintain a calm, supportive environment for all students. A strong team approach and patient communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent in challenging situations.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and daily living tasks.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
