Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, part of ChanceLight, Inc., is seeking an Instructional Aide to join our Special Education team serving grades K-12. You will provide personalized support, supervision, and guidance in classrooms and community settings, assisting with IEP implementation and tailored instruction.

You will collaborate with teachers to implement targeted strategies, monitor progress, and communicate effectively with families.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher preferred in education or related field.
• Hold CA state driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
• Crisis management training certification preferred.
• Paraprofessional or related credential preferred.
• Experience with instruction/support for children, preferably in special education.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive, high-achieving learning environment.
• Implement engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor and guide students during lessons, ensuring fidelity and progress toward goals.
• Track student progress and communicate with teachers about successes and needs.
• Manage student behavior, reinforce school policies, and apply disciplinary measures with teachers.
• Mentor students facing challenges and help develop essential life skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; provide observations and recommendations.
• Prepare behavioral reports and activity logs as needed.
• Communicate with students, colleagues, supervisors, and families about needs and achievements.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records at all times.
• Participate in accreditation activities and school-wide meetings.
