Job summary

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs, a division of ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education, seeks an Instructional Aide to support students in a Special Education setting. You will assist with IEP implementation, provide individualized instruction, and collaborate with teachers to foster a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring progress, delivering targeted instructional strategies, and helping students develop essential academic and social skills

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
• State driver’s license ability to obtain.
• Crisis management training certification
• Paraprofessional/teaching assistant credential preferred.
• Experience with children in special education or behavioral health.
• Experience with autism/learning disabilities etc.
• Ability to respond calmly in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers to maintain a supportive learning environment.
• Provide individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
• Monitor classrooms and ensure instructional fidelity.
• Track student progress and communicate with teachers regularly.
• Support and mentor students in developing key skills.
• Document student behaviors and performance; report observations.
• Assist with preparation of behavioral reports and logs.
• Communicate with families and staff regarding student needs and achievements.
