Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator currently at CHMS Learning Center to assist in small group and individual pupil instruction. The role supports the SPED teacher with classroom activities, supervision, and paperwork, involving work with both SPED and general education students.

The position includes duties such as escorting students, assisting with assignments, and ensuring safety during recess and lunch, with a start ASAP and a typical 6.5 hour workday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; two years of college credit or an associate degree.
• Parapro Assessment knowledge is acceptable and helpful.
• Ability to assist instruction under supervision of the SPED teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline.
• Assist teacher with instructional activities.
• Escort students between rooms.
• Toileting students is required.
• Work with both SPED and regular students.
• Assist in implementing IEPs.
• Supervise students during recess and lunch.
• Assist with classroom assignments and copying materials.
• Prepare paperwork for instruction.
