Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students under the direction of a special education teacher at CHINS? CHMS. You will assist in small group and individual instruction and help with classroom activities.

The position involves supervising students during recess and lunch, assisting with IEP implementation, and may require toileting support. Strong reading, math, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 2 years of college credit or an associate degree.
• Paraprofessional assessment may substitute for formal education.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and assist in instruction.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and with instructional activities.
• Escort students between rooms and supervise recess and lunch.
• Assists with IEP implementation and prepares instructional materials.
• May assist with toileting of students as required.
• Copy materials and prepare paperwork; alert teachers to problems.
