Job summary

Omaha Public Schools Belle Ryan Elementary in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a Paraprofessional for the Special Education ACP program. This part-time, temporary role starts January 2027 for 2nd semester only and runs 5.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday.

Pay is $19 per hour, non-exempt, with duties including assisting in educational activities and daily student care. Responsibilities include supporting teachers, transporting students as needed, collecting data, and maintaining a safe, clean classroom

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, twist, balance, stoop, climb steps and reach overhead.
• Training in health care related field preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Follows written and oral directions to carry out educational programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist or directly carry out educational activities designed by teacher and support personnel.
• Assist students with toileting needs and diaper changing.
• Carry out self-care programs including feeding, tooth brushing and grooming.
• Assist in unloading/loading students on van/bus.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness and order.
• Collect and record data; make teaching materials.
