Job summary

Haslett Public Schools is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to support classroom teachers under IEP guidelines and maintain a safe, healthy school environment for students with disabilities.

The role involves implementing IEPs, possibly one-on-one or small group work, and participating in First Aid/CPR training with nonviolent intervention methods. Other duties include bus assistance and supervision in playground and lunch areas.

Qualifications

• Ability to relate and communicate with children, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• May be required to facilitate medical and/or personal care needs of students.
• People skills sufficient for prolonged and effective contact with students with disabilities.
• Experience with Special Education Students.

Responsibilities

• Implement IEP program and follow behavior intervention program requirements for students with disabilities.
• Willingness to be trained in First Aid/CPR and implement nonviolent verbal and physical interventions.
• Help students with getting on and off the school bus.
• Playground/lunchroom supervision.
