Job summary

ChanceLight Education in Mansfield, OH is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students in Grades K-12 within a special education framework. You will assist with implementing IEP goals, supervise classroom activities, and help design individualized instructional strategies in both school and community settings.

The role emphasizes patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with opportunities to contribute to student growth in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or related field preferred.
  • Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional/educational aide credential preferred.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
  • Experience providing instruction, guidance and/or support to children, preferably in special education or behavioral health.
  • Ability to work with children with learning disabilities and related disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Implement engaging, individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings.
  • Monitor and supervise students during lessons to ensure fidelity of instruction.
  • Track student progress and communicate with teachers about successes and needed interventions.
  • Manage student behavior and apply disciplinary measures in collaboration with teachers.
  • Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills.
  • Document student behaviors and performance with recommended actions for staff.
  • Assist with behavioral reports and daily logs.
