Job summary

Endeavor Elmhurst Hospital is offering a Special Care Nursery RN Transition Program for experienced nurses transitioning to the Level 2E nursery. The program includes 16 weeks of precepted training, dedicated education time, and orientation to the unit, policies, and patient care standards.

Requirements include an ADN or higher, IL RN license, BLS, and NRp within six months. Inpatient RN experience is preferred. Start date January 18, 2027 with nights and possible day shifts during transition.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing.
• Active Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification through AHA.
• NRP certification within six months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in accordance with the Illinois RN Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patient condition, plan and evaluate care, monitor progress, and document observations.
• Collaborate with the team to meet unit goals and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Complete transitions training under a nurse preceptor for 16 weeks in the Special Care Nursery.
• Attend to precepted shifts and participate in education time.
