Endeavor Elmhurst Hospital is offering a Special Care Nursery Nurse Transition Program for experienced nurses transitioning into the Level 2E unit designed to mentor through 16 weeks with a dedicated preceptor and education time. The program emphasizes patient-centered care, critical thinking, and teamwork in a busy neonatal environment.

The role requires an RN license in Illinois, a relevant nursing degree, BLS certification, NRP within six months, and at least one year of inpatient RN

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Nursing; if ADN, must complete BSN within five years of start date.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
• Current BLS through AHAs.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within six months of start date.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Train with a nurse preceptor for 16 weeks with dedicated education time.
• Provide professional nursing care per Illinois RN Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess patient conditions, plan and evaluate care, and document observations.
• Collaborate with the team to achieve unit goals; manage shifts and duties as assigned.
