Job summary

Toyoda Gosei Americas is seeking an HR Generalist to manage end-to-end recruiting for hourly production and salaried roles in our San Antonio plant. You will coordinate interviews, offers, and onboarding to ensure rapid productivity and a smooth candidate experience.

This role requires strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, I-9/E-Verify, and HRIS systems. Fluency in Spanish is essential to support our diverse workforce and partner with plant leadership on staffing and compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience; manufacturing or automotive industry preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, and OSHA.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, or comparable systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to engage employees at all levels.
  • Spanish language proficiency required to support a large Spanish-speaking workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end recruiting for hourly production and salaried roles, including postings, screening, interview coordination, and offers.
  • Forecast staffing needs and develop proactive talent pipelines with plant supervisors and department managers.
  • Facilitate comprehensive new hire orientation programs for onboarding and productivity.
  • Maintain I-9 compliance and E-Verify processes per federal requirements.
  • Track time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, and onboarding satisfaction metrics.
  • Administer FMLA, ADA, EEO, and other employment laws.
  • Maintain OSHA 300 logs and coordinate recordkeeping with EHS.
  • Ensure consistent policy application and employee handbook enforcement.
  • Communicate evolving labor law changes to HR leadership and plant management.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining compliant HR documentation.
  • Guide benefits enrollment, plan changes, and annual open enrollment processes.
  • Administer and track all leave of absence programs including FMLA, personal leave, and short-term disability.
  • Partner with payroll on compensation changes, shift differentials, and deductions.
  • Support compensation review cycles and market benchmarking.
  • Maintain accurate HR records in HRIS and generate headcount/turnover reports.
  • Analyze HR data trends to surface insights for leadership.
  • Support system audits and data cleanup initiatives to maintain HRIS accuracy.
  • Collaborate with EHS to promote workplace safety and incident prevention.

  • Support compensation review cycles and assist with job analysis and market benchmarking activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the HRIS, ensuring data integrity at all times
  • Generate and distribute recurring reports on headcount, turnover, absenteeism, and other key workforce metrics
  • Analyze HR data trends to surface insights and support data-driven decision-making by plant and HR leadership
  • Support system audits and data cleanup initiatives to maintain HRIS accuracy
  • Partner closely with the EHS team to support a culture of workplace safety and incident prevention
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience; manufacturing or automotive industry environment strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, and OSHA
  • Demonstrated experience working with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, ADP, or comparable systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage employees at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
  • Spanish Language Proficiency Required: This position supports a large Spanish‑speaking workforce and requires the ability to communicate effectively in Spanish, both verbally and in writing, to ensure clear guidance, accurate information sharing, and positive employee relations.
