Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking an exceptional Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide 1:1 ABA therapy under BCBA supervision. The role focuses on developing language, communication, social, and school readiness skills for children on the autism spectrum.

The position requires RBT certification (or willingness to complete a 40-hour training and sit for the competency exam within 45 days), reliable transportation, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to participate in background check.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must have reliable transportation and, where applicable, a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, plus TB test if not current within 1 year.
• Physically able to perform job duties including lifting up to 50 lbs and responding quickly for safety.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times.
• Patience and positive attitude to help children learn new skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and use technology to record data.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
• Follow prescribed protocols from BCBA/BC to support skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training aligned with treatment plans.
• Ensure timely and compliant documentation.
• Communicate progress with parents and caregivers as directed by BCBA/BC.
• Maintain safe, clean, and organized therapy environments.
• Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials and assessments.
