Job summary

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking a Behavior Technician to support children on the autism spectrum with ABA therapy in a 1:1 setting under a BCBA supervisor. Certification as an RBT or willingness to complete a 40-hour course and sit for the competency exam within 45 days is required.

The role focuses on developing language, communication, social, and school readiness skills, delivering direct client care, collecting data, and collaborating with families and the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT).
• Must be willing to participate in background check process.
• Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required.
• Reliable transportation and, in some cases, proof of driver’s license and car insurance.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification.
• Physical ability to perform job duties (on floor, lifting up to 50lbs).
• Must be able to accurately follow instructions and maintain data records.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Culturally competent with flexible mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings.
• Follow treatment plans and behavioral protocols developed by BCBA/BC.
• Collect, record, and summarize data on client behavior.
• Assist with parent and caregiver training.
• Ensure timely documentation and reporting.
• Communicate progress to parents/caregivers as instructed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
• Assist with preparation of client materials and assessments.
