Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, Alabama, is seeking an experienced engineer to design and analyze helium subsystems for the Transfer Stage Vehicle. You will size components, select materials, and ensure structural integrity under pressure, vibration, and thermal loads.

The role emphasizes collaboration with suppliers and internal teams, CAD design (Creo) and P&ID work, and delivering robust fluid systems for spaceflight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in 3D CAD (Creo preferred).
• 2+ years designing aerospace fluid/mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of gas systems and ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
• Experience with flow/pressure calculations and thermal/structural analysis.
• Familiarity with valves, tubing, and pressurized hardware.
• Ability to define interfaces between vehicle subsystems.

Responsibilities

• Fluids sub-assembly design and development in CAD (Creo preferred).
• Analyze components for fluid, thermal, and structural use.
• Prepare P&ID drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create specifications for valves, manifolds, regulators, and instrumentation.
• Develop interface definitions between fluid systems and subsystems.
• Conduct trade studies and analyze test data.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams for procurement, fabrication, and installation.
• Verify component compliance to company standards.
