Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an engineer to develop and integrate thermal components across the Blue Moon Crew Lander as part of the HLS Crew Lander Thermal Systems Engineering Vehicle Team. You will own Active Thermal Control fluid routing design, build, integration, testing, and verification, ensuring qualification before delivery to vehicle assembly.

The role requires a BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering, 3 years of relevant experience, and hands-on hardware testing and CAD work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3 years of relevant Thermal or Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software.
  • Demonstrated experience assembling and testing hardware.
  • Understanding of aerospace hardware verification and validation process.
  • Familiarity with spacecraft Active Thermal Control hardware (fittings, tubing, fluids, heat exchangers, valves).
  • Experience with CAD software; preferably Creo.

Responsibilities

  • Provide manufacturing and production support for your hardware.
  • Provide technical guidance for integration.
  • Apply practical approaches to hardware fabrication and cost impacts.
  • Create test plans, specifications, and other documentation for flight hardware.
  • Plan, coordinate, conduct tests, and review test data.
  • Maintain and report on activity schedule, budget and technical status.
